In March 2017, during my 4-month stay in China, I got to take a 3-hour train ride on one of China's high speed trains from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province to Changsha, Hunan Province.
Riding the high speed train was definitely an interesting experience as I not only got to see changes in landscape but I also got to see shifts in weather from sunny to overcast to rain as the train traveled northwest inland at over 300 km/h.
